As my cold is still lingering on and I think it’s never too much of boosting the immune system during winter I decided to be adventurous and create a yummy snack/desert.
I grated one big apple and at least a thumb size ginger in a food processor then added some honey and fresh lemon juice, a few teaspoons of chia seed and some milk. (And some turmeric into one of the pots)
But why do I think it’s healthy? Let’s see:
Ginger: strong antioxidant and inflammatory remedy. (It also helps with nausea, motion sickness and gastrointestinal distress apparently)
Apple: an apple a day keeps the doctor away. at least for those lucky ones who can stand the irritating noise of apple crunching. it’s high in vitamin C, fibre and pectin and helps preventing asthma, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
Honey: antioxidant and natural sweetener
Turmeric: I already wrote about the amazing health affects and anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory agents
Chia seed: high in protein and creates a pudding like substance
In the meantime I tried the turmeric one. Oh boy, it’s strong! And probably I should have added more honey…
Update: one without turmeric is pretty awesome
